One-legged Poses, Standing Eka Padas with Jeff Logan, Level 2 and up

Explore how developing stability in one-legged balancing postures helps develop steadiness of body and mind as well as conditions for an unshakable consciousness.

October 14       

Breaking the Barriers with Adam Vitolo, Level 2 and Up

Parivrtta Trikonasana: this action-packed pose will provide the key to understanding and unlocking tension and create freedom in the chest, shoulders, upper back, side body and hips.

October 21

Backbends with Matt Dreyfus, Level 2 and Up

Done well, back bends are exhilarating and uplifting. Learn how to practice these energizing postures with integrity and ease.

October 28

Undoing the Neck, Shoulders and Upper Back with Lara Brunn, Level 2 and Up

Learn how to let go of strain and move the shoulder girdle with ease and freedom. We will begin with passive reclining poses to release tension in the upper body and carry this “undoing” into active postures.

The Bhagavad Gita in the Landscape of Our Lives

An introduction to basic principals underlying yoga and an excellent way to deepen one’s understanding. This year we are reading the Bhagavad Gita, reflecting on its relevance to our personal practice.

If possible, bring your own copy of The Bhagavad Gita. We recommend the translation by Winthrop SargeantAdvanced registration is not required.

Iyengar Yoga for Amputees with James Murphy and Faculty

6-Mondays, October 22, 29, November 5, 12, 19 and 26, 6:00-7:30 pm
No fee.
Improve mobility, flexibilty, stamina and body awareness.
Space is limited. Please call the institute to preregister.
