Relaxing into Savaasana at the Projective Space Yoga@Tech Startup

When we first kicked off with the plan of doing yoga for the tech folks at Projective Space on, guess what, Feb 14th (yes we did the first practice session on valentines day) i wasn't even sure if people will come. But as they say, one just has to show up and do. I have been doing weekly Yoga Practice sessions on tuesday evening for the folks and every week we have had some one come for practice. And today April 3, marked the completion of 8 weeks of yoga at Projective Space and two folks came for class! Really exciting! Completing One Full Month of Weekly Friday Jummah Yoga

I had earlier written about kicking off Yoga after Jummah ( Muslim Congregation Prayer) at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Today marked the completion of the first month in which we have had 5 weekly friday post prayer practices and people have stayed back for each class and some for almost all classes. Thanks all for coming and sharing your practice with me. And lest you may wonder, Yoga transcends any specific religious belief system (yes, it sure has its roots in vedic scriptures and in hinduism, but its goal is essentially to help one attain inner self-awareness...

Folks relaxed in Savaasana -Yoga@Work at our research department

We are super excited that today marked the completion of 4 full weeks (Mon-Fri) of Yoga Practice at our department in Columbia University Medical Center. When we started four weeks ago, it was just a thought and an idea that we just went ahead with. I was not even sure if we will even get people interested. But right from the first day we have had sustained interest and some folks coming almost every day. Some folks were totally new to yoga but have stayed on and made it a daily lunch activity. For the last one week we have been following the pose sequence and schedule described in Geeta...

Yoga @ Work – Begins with Two Classes at Medical Center

We are very excited to announce that YogaAnywhere today started its Yoga@Work initiative. Yes, at the Medical Center where our founder works. The basic idea is pretty simple - do some yoga over the lunch break. Stretch with a few basic poses, get the blood flowing, get the breath moving and the body kicking! An opportunity for the mind to get time to go inward and get some "self awareness time" from all he the hectic emails, interruptions, conversations and demands of work. Specially at our work place where pretty much the entire office is on their computer all day long (and some, all night long...
